About us

The PTT Archive secures the history of the postal services, telegraphy and telephony (PTT) in Switzerland. It is the historical corporate archive of Swiss Post and Swisscom, the successor companies to PTT (1849-1997).

By public transport from Bern main train station:

  • Bus no. 10 (Köniz Schliern) to the Köniz Zentrum stop. Cross the train tracks.
  • Bus no. 17 (Köniz Weiermatt) to Sägestrasse stop.
  • U-Bahn S 6 (Schwarzenburg) to Köniz stop. The archive is on the same side of the tracks as this stop.

By car: A12 Bern-Fribourg, take the Bern-Bümpliz/Köniz exit and head in the direction of Köniz. At Könizstrasse turn right into Sägestrasse.

Parking is available in front of the archive building.
