It is often artists who make the most striking statements on the development of communication, which is why the museum documents the dialogue between art and communication.
National and international selection
Visual and New Media art works are part of the collection. The art collection features Swiss artists such as Thomas Hirschhorn and Christian Marclay as well as internationally known names such as Joseph Beuys, Matt Mullican and Hirsch Perlman.
Mail Art is an international movement the roots of which date back to the 1960s. Swiss artists H.R. Fricker and Marcel Stüssi's archives are, amongst others, part of the museum's collection.
The representative collection documents how artists use postal media (letter, stamps (of both kinds) and post cards) to enter into an international artistic dialogue. Our exhibition space «art booth» gives you an intermittent glimpse into the art collection of the museum.
