The "typewriter" collection

Typewriters are part of the museum's traditional collection. In recent years, efforts to document the history of communication as comprehensively as possible have led to an upgrading of the "Culture of Writing" section.

The typewriter collection now comprises over 300 exhibits.

In addition to a key focus on Swiss manufacturers, the collection documents the evolution from various 19th and early 20th century mechanical systems to the electronic word processors and computers of today.
